As a fan I think this is one of (if not) her best albums because it's not bloated and the vision is more sonically and thematically consistent than most of her previous work. The current situation around her is definitely kinda icky but I choose to take these songs at face value (sans yes, and? because of the one line), and maybe that's willful ignorance but in interviews she's said this album was meant to be a gift to her audience for them to interpret things how they choose to. If that's how it was intended to be seen then that's how I'm gonna take it because honestly I don't know her or any of the people involved in this situation and streaming services don't pay people enough to justify me feeling bad about listening to artists who make questionable choices. Maybe my feelings will change over time, but I loved it on first listen and subsequent listens have been just as (if not more) enjoyable.
I can understand why you'd feel this way about the album though, it's kind of hard to enjoy like half the album if you're interpreting it with the context of her life in mind.

Now the album has arrived, I can't help feeling "Yes, and?" was almost a 'bait and switch' leading people to believe this album would be a departure from the Ariana sound we've known for the past 5-6 years. We were told the album would blend House and R&B, however, after 'yes, and' comes and goes, you discover the sonics are revisiting sounds from her previous works rather than bravely striding into new territory. Sonically you could argue it's 'more of the same' rather than the re-invention she teased. For example: I thought she might leave the trap production behind, but it's clearly a comfort zone for her (where she effortlessly glides). That's pretty much my only nitpick (if you can even call it one). The feeling of familiarity didn't stop me enjoying the project or the concept bc it's just so well executed. There isn't a single song I can say I dislike. I particularly found that hauntingly ethereal melody on "Imperfect for You" so whimsical and charming that I think it's already one of my favourite songs in her discography.

i wish you wouldâve focused more on the narrative based on the concept with eternal sunshine of the spotless mind etc, rather than talking about rumors and her personal life gossip. this album is so pretty and introspective, and wasnât meant to be understood from the lense of the gossip, but from the storyline behind the erasure of relationships and memories and dealing with the change. i loved it and personally itâs a 8/10 for me :)

Just because sheâs dating someone who lives in a pineapple under the sea instead of a melon doesnât mean you have to give it a 6.
