A beautiful movie . I wish more movies were made like this today - no gunfights - not a lot of explicit sex just deep love between 2 people. Women wore dresses and never be seen in ripped jeans and sloppy tee shirts. Men never wore jeans to go out on a date and took hi date to a diner not to a fast food for dinner. They were polite and kind and showed respect to each other. We'll never see those times again

Astaire's dance on the ceiling gets more amazing every time I watch it. It's cinematic perfection.

I love watching this film. Aprox. every 3 months just for the dance numbers. To imagine they were filmed in 1 shot. Amazing discipline!!

Lovely musical, fantastic cast, superb singing, dancing, just right for that "take me away from all this" escapism. I also visited London on a school trip to see the wedding decorations. Ah memories are wonderful.

As impressive as the dancing on the ceiling is, the dance in the gymnasium, "Sunday Jumps" is equally so. To dance with single props, especially the coat rack! is a wonderful demonstration of skill and craft! Thank you for sharing this! ⚘

Recording machines like printers which record the thoughts of writers , video cameras which record the image in motion of a thing or a person as well as a radio stereo which make people's voice in songs inmortals for next generations of humans to enjoy it as long as they live...this movie inmortalized those who participated in it marvellously perfect..fred and janet both are unforgettable as long as people with good taste exist...master piece compared only the greatest marvel of the worlds in artistry and talent....long live the king of dancing mr Fred A....thank you

Jane Powell was exceptional - one of a kind extraordinary singer. There are very few singers of her great talent today.

Comic/Character actor:Albert Sharpe..who played the bartender in"Royal Wedding"would also appear in MGM's movie version of'Brigadoon"..a few years later and..in 1959..he would play the title role in Walt Disney's"Darby O'Gill & The Little People".
