The R211 is the newest New York City Transit subway car. It features digital displays, LED destination signs, dedicated space for wheelchairs, and doors that light up green when they're opening and red when they're closing. It was built by famed manufacturer Kawasaki. The R211s will replace the R44s on the Staten Island Railway and the iconic R46. The R46 is the greatest NYC subway car ever built, but after 50 years of service, it will bow out gracefully.
The R211 isn't as good as the R46. With that said, commuters will definitely enjoy riding the R211.
