Flume’s debut album was triple J’s album of the week when I was on a road trip from Melbourne to far North Queensland with a bunch of hippie mates. We had no aux cable or CD player. Just the radio. Great thing about the J being national is we got that album all week on the way up. Stopping in beach towns for wheeling and dealing to get cash for the next spot. We were gone for two months. I saw the rainforest, then went to a six day festival in the bush to witness a full solar eclipse, and a bunch of DJs. I candy flipped for the first time. Kissed a French girl by the lake, met my significant other the next day. That album kicked off that entire experience for me and this just brings it all back.
What a ride. Thanks, Flume.

I mean there's something brilliant and nostalgic to being able to hear something that was produced a decade ago, with the vibe of albums released in that period but somehow it's something you've never heard before, yet still authentic. It's brilliant, I'm in awe and it's like reliving all of those years when I was a teenager. It's perfect, those synth are beautiful.
