Orginal trilogy: Man, those fights/duels had emotional weight on it...
Prequels: Now I know why the Jedi had a reputation and why they were guardians of peace of the galaxy. Its not about choreoghraphy, its about how a lightsaber isnt just a sword that anyone can use. Wielding one of them was an art that had its own particular styles...
Sequels: I only see children hitting glowsticks whenever they are angry...

The âJedi were in their prime then vs nowâ and âheavier propâ excuses like the OT doesnât really work when you consider the fact that both Luke vs Vader battles were a hundred times better than the sequel fights. It was just poor coreography and poor execution, no other excuse really.

if we remember what lucas said, in teh original trilogy sabers where treated as great swords and thats why the fights where also very slow back then. the in the 1, 2, and 3 they were treated more as samurai swords being much more lightweight. looks like they went back to greatsword technique IF canon is the reason they are doing this

Big improvement. In the sequels, she is aiming for the body, like in a real fight. In the prequels, they are aiming for the other lightsaber, which looks cool, but useless in a real fight.

Simply put, one of these is a movie scene and the other is a time capsule that transports you to a new dimension of magic and wonder

My favorite part with that scene with Rey and Kylo Ren, that was all like force telepathy or something. Ren even says "tell me where you are" just imagine you walking by in either location and just see someone swinging a lightsaber at nothing looking like a madman

Anakin VS Obi-Wan looks like two highly trained sword users fighting, Rey VS Kylo looks like two drunkards swinging baseball bats around.
