I used to admire US 2 decades ago thinking that they stand for justice-not any more. I have come to understand the double standards of US which are getting more and more clear to the world today. It's policy with Ukraine versus Palestine, it's unconditional support for Israel's inhuman actions, its attempts for dominance in China, its unjustified sanctions against most countries like China, Russia etc., it's open support for Modi in India after banning him to enter US for over a decade etc. In the name of democracy, its open support to India who is abusing the minorities with illegal violations, its false accusations of Iraq killing 1 million Iraqis with a simple sorry to justify the killings- the list is too long. If you look at history, many civilizations have fallen after hundreds of years of bring on top of the world for one of the main reasons of injustice, arrogance and losing their moral values. I fear this should not happen to the west as their arrogance is at the peak now.

I can totally back up the Xinjiang point: I was in Urumqi in 2012, a few years after a massive Han-Uighur ethnic confrontation that led to bloodshed, lockdowns and tanks in the streets. I asked a local guide and was told that after that terrible incident where many were killed and injured, the Chinese government poured a fortune into modernising Urumqi and other cities in Xinjiang. By the time I was there, Urumqi looked fantastically modern. People had jobs. Kids went to school. Everything was normal and people could live again. China was bright enough not to suppress (or not JUST to suppress) civil unrest, but also work on removing the underlying reasons why people felt they had no choice but to take to the streets. The west sees the suppression part and pilloried China, willingly blind to the second part which is actually taking care of things so outbreaks didnโt have to happen again.
