It's more like "we realized that Overwatch made plenty of money on it's own through loot boxes and other microtransactions and so we won't use money on a game mode that won't make us more money in the long term, so the single player idea is scrapped" π

The whole reason I was interested in Overwatch was because I wanted to find out more about the world and characters. When I found out that wasn't in the game and that the game is SOMEHOW not canon TO ITSELF, I did not bother with the game. When they announced it for Overwatch 2, I was cautiously optimistic. And it's gone. Again. Blizzard you literally made an entire game based on a story and group of characters no one knows anything about no matter how much they want to. Good job.

1. They didnt make this an official announcement post, they just casually dropped it an hour into a devtalk like it was a minor hotfix. (Shows complete lack of respect to players)
2. They swore up and down the whole reason for 2 was because the engine for 1 couldnt deal with all the awesome pve content they were making and had to make a hotswap. (Shows they lied about how much they had done back then to sell the swap)
Anyone who buys into any blizzard game expecting anything that is not 100% confirmed in the box already is just asking for dissapointment. Also i give it a day or two before they drop an official "we are getting death threats so honestly its your fault we couldnt finish this and we will now use one or two psychos to justify going radio silent and focusing on our battlepass/skin shop instead of content like we promised."
