This is great! Iโve been preaching using a DAW for practicing for years and years. I used to use it with my middle school orchestras and guitar ensembles to learn advanced repertoire, always worked like a charm. I wish music education degree programs would encourage students to not only learn standard notation programs but also digital audio workstations.

Thanks for the tips Nahre! ๐ถAs someone who does all his practice sessions in a DAW, another way a DAW can help (well doesn't necessarily need to be through a daw) those of us who only have regular access to a digital piano is simply allowing for much more inspiring piano sounds than the ones built into our keyboards. Using a high quality piano VST like Garritan CFX, Ravenscroft, Pianoteq, Embertone Steinway, or VSL is often SO much more inspiring to work with that the outdated sounds in many digital pianos. Or you could simply try pianos from different brands, pianos that aren't perfectly regulated 100% of the time, etc. Most digital pianos can't compare in sheer sound quality to a good VST simply because your PC is much more powerful than the typical digital piano hardware.
And though some may scoff at the idea of 'editing' notes in a DAW, and I would never do that for a performance or real recording, I often find it helpful to tweak a note's velocity to see how I can change the sound of a piece by bringing out different voices. You can do this by simply playing, of course, but the control of a DAW helps you hear it in the context of a larger piece and gives you a goal to strive for if you can't quite play it that way yet.

I love how you manage to push the envelope further with how you practice Nahre! You are a truly fantastic musician, and I wish that I had met more musicians like yourself back when I was getting my classical guitar master's degree. For example, one of my music theory pupils told me he made with MuseScore some backing tracks for his scale practice, and I was so happy to hear he used what I taught him to improve his practice routine.

I can't believe you could do all this exploration, filming, and produce such a high quality video in just a few days, when things must've been so hectic as well. I think you're simply a genius... Best wishes to you and your DAWg! ๐ถ
