Velvet noise can help you relax and get some sleep, and may alleviate the effects of tinnitus. It is a type of audio signal consisting of random, isolated impulse events, also known as "taps." These taps create a unique, sparse texture, making the noise ideal for various applications like sound masking and synthesis. Enjoy, and rest well.

Fun fact: velvet noise is not an "official" color of noise (after all, velvet is not a color!), so there may be multiple interpretations of how it should sound. Its primary and defining trait is its "taps per second," which make it sound more like standard white noise as the number increases and the taps become denser. I generated this audio entirely in code and specified a sample rate of 48,000 samples per second and a per-sample tap probability (the chance that tap will occur) of 15%. Hence, 48,000 × 0.15 = 7,200, which is why this is titled "7,200 Taps per Second."

⚠️ 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗗 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗗𝗗𝗟𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢? If so, I'm sorry that happened. I know it's awful to be startled by a mid-roll ad. I have them disabled on all of my content, but YouTube has a confirmed bug that causes them to play for some viewers anyway. It's not just my channel – this has been a problem across the entire platform since at least mid-2022. YouTube's engineers know about the bug and what causes it to happen, but unfortunately, they have not provided any information about when (or if) they will fix it. The bug tends to manifest as a 30-second mid-roll ad played around the 6-hour mark, and it disproportionately affects iPhone and iPad users. I have been investigating this for a very long time, and I go into more detail about my findings in this video: https://youtu.be/ndeUVgZMh1Y If you are affected by the bug but still want to access my content, I recommend that you view the video's description and try one of the alternatives I have provided, such as Spotify or Rumble. If you want to stay on YouTube, you'll find that I have live stream versions of my most popular content, and they tend to be safe from the bug – but not always. The only guaranteed way to never get ads on YouTube is to subscribe to YouTube Premium, which I understand is not an option for everyone. As it turns out, the reason I do not need to play ads is because my channel makes the vast majority of its revenue from YouTube Premium. You are welcome to reply to this comment with information about what happened to you. Historically, it has been helpful for me to know what type of device you are on, which app or browser you use, the approximate timestamp of when the ad played, and what company/product/service the ad was for. I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter, and I'm

might be cool to hear what less and more taps sound like (i.e. 9,600, 12,800, 6,400 etc).
