The dream of every kid playing kick-to-kick at lunchtime in the 70s. In my nearly sixty years of watching footy, that’s as good as I’ve seen. Destined to become iconic.

A great mark. Pity he didnt mark the ball on the boundry line with 30 seconds to go to possibly win the game..

Probably one of the top 5 all time marks. Just behind Moorcroft, Smith, Walker and Ablett’s speccies

31 years of age too.. and only 178cm.. Over Ben McKay who is 202cm.. considering this it’s got to be mark of the century 👍

Great mark for sure! And what I love about this one is that he grabbed it so cleanly. But don't ever forget Brett Burton (the Birdman) who was taking one of these seemingly every other week for the Crows.

Great grab but saying it's mark of the year is way too early; and the powers that be may have different ideas.

Best mark in football since Jezza's mark in the 1970 Grand Final!

A great grab agreed BUT let's keep things in perspective. The pace of the game these days would seem to have reduced the number of speccies as perhaps the footy followers of yesteryear would tell you that in the 1960s and 1970s era we were privileged to see a really great grab or 2 at practically every game. Think about Jezza and Blighty in the VFL and in the SANFL ( I know .... SA boring !!) a bloke who played for Sturt by the name of Ken Whelan was taking a similar mark on a very regular basis. Check the photos out on line Ken Whelan Sturt. He was a very successful full forward who in over 100 plus games had a goals/ganes average comparable to Fevola. You may have never heard of him but he was well known in VFL circles with Essendon chasing him for starters. Back to Elliott and 100% a great grab and should be one to watch for the ages alongside the great grabs of yesteryear. Thank goodness Daicos didn't take the mark .... he would have been elevated to Legend status on the spot. Keep the big grabs coming .... it will keep putting bums on seats whist silly tackling rules seem hellbent on taking the interest from the game. Up there Wheeeeeels ! Jamieeee you beauteeee
