I discovered Beach house's slowed + reverb songs approximately one month ago now, right during the COVID pandemic and the lockdown that has deeply affected my mental health, my plans, and my life in general. I have no words to explain how their songs embraced every step of that dark journey I am slowly getting off now, how they made the despair, the pain, and the fear sound so gorgeous despite everything. When I thought nothing could beat the playlist that had changed my life (mostly made of M83 songs), this band entered my life and their songs are just something else. They will be forever associated with this very strange time of my life and I am just so happy to hold on to them like an old companion.
