This is the highest I've ever taken the Ominus, and the furthest I've ever flown it... Dangerous combination.
Power line interference appears to be real. I thought I was far enough away with the Ominus "past" the radial band of interference around the cables, but it certainly seems to still have an effect despite my Ominus and my Q100 having an unobstructed Line Of Sight transmission path. Things got a lot less jumpy when both the Ominus and I were past the cables entirely.
Of course, it is entirely possible that the Ominus was just at the edge of the transmitting range of the Q100 radio and there was minimal contribution (or none at all) from the power lines.
It is also possible that the 808 #16 V3-D was attenuating the signal by causing interference of its own (which is a known issue, especially with GPS receivers), reducing the effective range of the Q100.
It is also possible that what happened was an amalgam of all three conditions. Without signal telemetry from the Ominus or a spectrum analyzer, I can't be certain.
Lesson Learned: Shorter leash for the Ominus.
