Bleeding Star perform 'Why Do Parties Have To Be So Loud?' live at the Flying Nun Record store
www.flyingnun.co.nz/ Bleeding Star are a young Te Whanganui-a-Tara band named after a particular song and album released by a Ōtautahi band via Flying Nun Records, in 1993. Yep, I'm sure you guessed the original band. They were named after a rather famous French existentialist. Anyway, Bleeding Star's music certainly has traces of their namesakes song and album, but with their own refreshing take. In this What Was That Thing? session they ask an interesting question - Why Do Parties Have to Be So Loud?

These guys are stellar live. Songwriting is great of course but this video doesn't quite capture the other important half of their sound - the sheer amplitude.
