[BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE] Vänel debuts on the Feed with “Can't Believe It”!

-How long have you been creating music?
I've been releasing music for 14 years now, I've released my first EP on 2009. 
Most of the time under my alias, just from 2012 to 2015 I've released music under my real name "Simone Marmellosi".

-What do you use to make your tracks?
As DAW until 2016 I used Logic Pro, but after that I definitely preferred to switch to Ableton.
For making solid grooves most of the time I use the Native Instruments drum maschine.
As plug-ins I use the Komplete NI ones a lot, Sylenth1 (LennarDigital) and mostly the SubBoomBass (Rob Papen) to make my basslines.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
It's been a long time I'd say, I discovered Dirtybird when I started performing as a resident DJ at a historic club in my hometown (Parma, Italy) in 2008, the club was called "Eden". 
From that moment I've started making intense musical selections, both in vinyl stores and digitally, it was impossible not to stumble upon Dirtybird releases.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Without a doubt "Riva Starr", he's italian like me and ever since I started DJing I have been in love with all his productions, I also find his live DJ sets incredible. 
He has started releasing his records on Dirtybird at the beginning of my career too.
I had the pleasure of meeting him once in person and I really respect him.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
"Begin Again" by John Carney.

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
"Richard Ashcroft" at Sziget Festival. He's my inspiration.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
I would go back to the 80s, to see with my own eyes and not through books, films and my mother's stories what life was like in that magnificent period.

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
"Dendrocopos major" as I really do love red as a color, putting passion in everything you do is the most important thing. 
I admire their tenacity in tapping with their beaks to satisfy their needs. I always put passion and that kind of tenacity to reach my music goals.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
A dream come true. 
Throughout all my career as a producer I've tried and dreamed of releasing my music on Dirtybird, now it's actually happened: I'm speechless and really excited about that.
