Karma is a real thing. If you keep putting out positive energy then eventually it will come back around. But one thing you need to do if you are going to be positive is not expect anything back. Give because you are grateful, because it makes you happy, because you are so full of love than you don't what to do with it. All the negative things, let them go, they don't have to be around if you don't want them too. Everything is an illusion and you can choose to live any life that you wish to live.
