switching gears today to listen and react to Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore album GUTS!!
when SOUR came out 2 years ago, i lovedddd it and listened to it on repeat all year and so looking towards this second album i had very high hopes and expectations. i think there’s a lot of growing up that olivia did over the past 2 years and this album is definitely a reflection of that. i’m excited to get into the lyrics of this album and talk about how olivia has grown with still staying true to her sound as a unique artist.
this album definitely has an early 2000s sound and influence that feels really nostalgic and feels like a metaphor for a coming of age. overall, i really enjoyed it and the story it tells from top to bottom, but there are definitely some songs that i really really like more than others.

I feel like teenage dream is sort of like a response to the bridge of nothing new. Sort of like her being like “What if I can’t actually be what you guys had in mind for me?” Overall, the songs give a very similar vibe, which I love.

Finally a video reacting to GUTS with the 4 bonus tracks!! All the different store coloured variants have "Obsessed" as a bonus, not just the red G deluxe...I have the clear/transparent one from Walmart and it has "Obsessed", love that song & it's hilarious...the other 3 are good too, even great...I'm fearful of spending $100 for the 3 variants to get those 3 songs when there will likely be a 2CD deluxe edition for $20-30...GUTS is great though...
