My mother loves Genesis and when we heard this song on the radio, she told me she wondered who was singing it. She really likes this cover! I was so excited to show her one of my favorite bands and she didn't believe me when I show her who you were, she's not used to this kind of aesthetic. Though i fear admitting it, I will say i am a Christian by belief and i have been listening to this song a lot lately. I love it, i love this cover, and i love Ghost. They're one of my favorite bands. And i will also say that everything in this song, and video, is true. Obviously not all religious people are like this but the sad fact is that religious fanaticism and indoctrination is becoming more and more common. I wasnt raised Christian either, i came to that belief all on my own. I hate religious fanaticism and psychological torture. Televangelists are the worst of the worst too. Theyre hypocrites who prey on the lost souls of innocent people just looking for something to believe in. One of the most egregious, disgusting ones i saw talked about sowwing a 1000 dollar seed and how he needed 1000 people to "sow the seed wity him". Its shit like that that gives us a bad image, and even worse is i cant help but side with the people that are justifiably vilifying us
