So this is what my mom did after she abandoned our family. Awesome. That lying dwarf should have his doctorate revoked from UCLA. I had to earn mine the old fashion way... actual research. Not making shit up to get laid because I'm 5'3". Edit: Thank you for posting this video. Grateful. Painful. Left hand path, narcissism, and spiritual bypassing. Welcome to gnosis of West LA. Thank god for dad.

I studied with Carlos and these three for four years. Tensegrity, when practiced, does exactly as advertised - and then some. We have a magical side that the Magical Passes open up, that they beckon. And then comes a point when the mind becomes silent and your energy body emerges - and you "see." Seeing is a near-death experience without the physical trauma. It also differs from NDEs in that the significance of "seeing" comes from the fact that you have a simultaneous double awareness.

On a side note:
I read “The art of dreaming” now 3 times. And everytime i read it, my dreams become actually lucid. Joyfull, in my dreams I suddenly can jump really high, and also I become able to instantly project myself from A to B, just by wanting it. In my dreams that is😄
However… when the book is finished, these feats stop too.

After his death, those who followed Carlos were in an uproar when the facts about his personal life came to light. For others, like myself, it was the greatest gift of all: The gift of learning not to follow anyone. A gift that was underscored one day when I "saw" that we are all as utterly complete and self-sufficient as we can be.

Am I the only one who thinks that Castaneda actually combined truth and fiction? I read him at age 17, and really liked his style, it wasn't until after getting into philosophy and psychology and learning of eastern practices, etc. that I started to think Carlos may have been pulling from many different places. I always took his writings with a grain of salt. He does start the first by saying: The following Stories are both allegory and metaphor. I never forgot that. I also had a mental picture of Don Juan, and when I saw a documentary where former followers, followed and filmed him, the image of him at age 70, was just like I pictured Don Juan looking like.

In the late 80's I was told by a person that he could control his dreams by starting by looking at his hands, at that time I had not heard of either Don Juan or Carlos C. I wanted to try this after I heard about the wonderful dream stories my friend told. After looking at my hands for several months it happened one night I was sleeping, I was in the middle of a river with water up to my knees, there was a gentle breeze blowing and the stars were shining brightly in the sky and the lights were twinkling softly from the houses that lay some distance from the river bank, I stood there peaceful and refreshed at the same time with lukewarm water up to my knees, I couldn't believe it, I was in another world and watched my hands which changed shape all the time. This happened only 2 more times in my dreams but completely different scenes, the last time was a nightmarish dream, and i was scared to death, so there it ended.
Now, 40 years later I started practicing with my hands again, but no success so far, looking forward when it will happen. I have read 4 of C.C's books, and I love every page of them.

Give up self importance; look at your own consciousness as integrally linked with others'; join with others of like aspiration; learn to listen to both your own body and the earth's mind; learn the languages of silence and movement- movement harmonizing with your deepest aspirations, movement beyond current, socially accepted forms- and you'll have hope. And lemme tell you, hope is a very important thing if you want to make sense of life, if you want to experience the deepest levels of existence. Hope and daring- they're at least as important as that rude skepticism which- untempered- will turn you into a bitter curmudgeon. Take it all with a grain of salt, but: Long live the warrior's way!

I hope that we are all surprisd at how things turn out and I have absolutly no doubt that we all will! I think that the Chocmools are incredibly charismatic and Kylie in particular is very adept at explaining things. Her sense of 'intent' is inspiring. Please pass on my warmest wishes to them all when next you see them. Love and blessings to you all.

This may surprise some of you, but reading the books written by Carlos Castaneda, all of them, has offered me supreme inspiration and insights in the world of true shamanism. Don Juan's lessons are priceless and timeless, also due to his great sense of humour, his way of rubbing it in, whatever it was. I call it the excersize of emotional muscle and resilience, in order to be a true warrior. Not in a dramatic way, with daggers and spears, etc. but as a person who dares to stand in one's truth. I read Castaneda's books every other 10 years or so and find new layers and levels of understanding. I truly feel I can get what it was that Don Juan tried to convey to Castaneda, despite what others have done with his work or how they integrate it in their life. There's a lot of thrill-hunting around, without an intention to embody what is experienced and learned. Many shamans are clothed in a costume of their own making, being a king without clothes underneath.
