I grew up around guys similar to Ryan's character and it's amazing how good a job he did to give the character that genuine damaged-person-lack-of-home-life feel like he was the real guy.

What a truly underrated movie. I show this to people and the instant change in story line throws them off at first. Ryan is only there for such a short duration of the movie but he makes the character unforgettable. It shows you family is everything. And you can lose it in an instance. When the son realizes his father was a damn cool guy with all his faults, its heartbreaking.

A really underrated Ryan gosling performance. And Bradley cooper was at it best to here. Eva mendes too tho was unbelievably good. Worst part of this movie was this is a common thing now a days. Broken families and men doing things they donโt want to in a way to provide for their kids.
