None of the people in that Congressman's Christmas family portrait are pointing their guns in a safe direction. Up isn't safe because bullets come down at the same speed they are fired. And the Congressman is pointing his rifle at his wife. It is literally the first thing you learn about gun safety. If you want to show off how much you love guns, maybe start by demonstrating some basic competence in handling them.
