There are videos on YouTube of AI generated South Park characters doing song covers, and those sound WAY beter than this. Like, Cartman singing "How Bad Could I Possibly Be?" from The Lorax just fits him PERFECTLY.

I’ve seen a few of these AI shows streaming on twitch typically. The funniest parts are always where they go so badly off the rails, that it’s obvious the AI has no idea what to do, and just keeps going anyway. Otherwise, they have no entertainment value.

It feels like this entire "ai-generated episode" was heavily manipulated by humans to try and essentially argue for AI (with no real arguments other than "it's a tool, guys. It's a tool.") being used to create media.

The thing I think a lot of tech bros miss when trying to create these "tools" for art is that they're often solutions in search of problems. Where as actual artists (and coders that respect the arts) are creating actual tools that solve actual problems. We don't need any "tools" that would ultimately remove us from the creative process, but we very much appreciate the kind of tools that helps make aspects of the creative process a bit less tedious. And to that extent, programs like Toon Boom, Clip Studio Paint, Storyboard Pro, TV Paint, Blender 3D, etc. have that covered in various ways.
And while this AI tech is impressive in its own right, the end results don't look that much better than what "Go Animate!" was doing over a decade ago. A tool that has since shifted its focus towards making animated corporate videos, which makes for the rare case of a solution that actually found a problem to solve.

One more major limitation I noticed upon revisiting this video is that the characters ALWAYS have to be front-facing. They never turn nor even so much as show their backs.
