That was a great video!
I'd love to see a breakdown of the similarities between the skilled meditation experience and the effects of psychedelics. I've read some papers on it, but I still don't quite understand it yet. Would be great to get a more comprehensive version by the great SciShow psych team! <3

As an aspie myself, I can confirm this, as I had to artificially learn empathy and theory of mind, which neurotypical people usually develop on their own. Nowadays, I actually enjoy empathizing with people and/or "reading" them, and I think I've gotten pretty decent at it. Though, again, the keypoint here is that I had to be taught this artificially.

this is so cool!! thanks for covering this!
as someone who went to college for neuroscience and now is finishing up yoga teacher training, I absolutely love exploring and learning about the intersections of the two fields. people far too often get this idea that science and philosophy/mindfulness are somehow incongruous or diametrically opposed, but I see them as just two facets of the greater lens through which we can better understand ourselves, others, and the universe around us.
