High platelets (known medically as Thrombocytosis) is caused by many different factors and conditions and can be differentiated into primary thrombocytosis (no other underlying cause, simply increases in platelets) or secondary thrombocytosis (another condition is causing increases in platelet number). In this rapid review lesson, we discuss what thrombocytosis is, how it's diagnosed and how it's treated.
