All three members of Green Day — frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool — sit down with Tom Power to talk about the 30th anniversary of Dookie, the 20th anniversary of American Idiot and their brand new album, Saviors, which they think "could be that next era of Green Day."

This guy knows how to interview a full band. Kudos for calling each member out and showing their importance by directing questions to everyone.

19:00 'No-one was talking about mental health back then'. Cobain died in April, Basketcase came out in August 1994. Living through that time there was a huge void in alternative culture after the end of Nirvana, almost a collective depression. Im so glad Green Day were a positive force that got me (and many other 90's kids) into punk music and through difficult teenage years. Great people. 'Saviors' is really good. Great interview.

The fact Tom opened with a question for Mike says so much about his interviewing technique and his respect for all facets of a band.

As a journalist (and a Green Day fan), this interview fills my heart with joy. I've been watching all of Green Day interviews talking about the new record, and this is, by far, the best one. I love how you push them to reflect on the song writing and how this connects to who they were, who they were, and who they want to be. The meaning behind the records. First time watching this channel, but I had to say thank you for the great points/questions. Wish the interview was even longer.

Billy said it best... We want our music to sound like it does live! That's what makes a band great! That's how it used to be ages ago! No dubs no machines just instruments and a singer singing great music! What u hear on CD is what u hear live and for the price of concert tickets today that's what I as a music lover wants...them raw like it should be!

I agree this record does feel like a statement. I think rock fans needed something to huddle around this year and god damn is this album some of there best work in decades.

I was at a house party in early 90's (maybe 92?) in Victoria BC with an unknown band Green Day. The sound equipment was broken, so they found an acoustic guitar and a white 10L bucket and rocked it for couple hours!! It was a memorable punk rock experience.

Brilliant interview. Great album. My 5-year-old has been getting into Green Day for the last 2 months. He cannot get enough. Love that he is feeling the music. I think he wants to be a drummer because he sits there air drumming. Although he does say that the cool one in the band is Mike.

I feel what is being said here, honestly. Im just so glad these 3 guys have such energy, such a bond with each other. I'm so glad they're still together making awesome stuff. It's so cool, sweet, in a way, and just all-around awesome. I can't wait to get the new album. This is my thoughts of course, that's just me.❤❤❤
