Huey Lewis at this point is pretty much a music national treasure for 80s kids.

You can tell he's a TRUE musician. Listen to his passion for Tower of Power.... hear how he breaks down Quincy Jones, with Sinatra and Count Basie's band. Wow... AWESOME

"Do you like Huey Lewis and The News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself."

It's so nice to see Huey Lewis and that he seems to be doing good despite his hearing loss. It made me so sad when I read that. This really made me happy. Great picks!

Huey is one of the nicest guys in music. I met him a couple of times over the years and he was a genuinely good person.

“I’m afraid you’re just too darn loud. Next please.” Huey seems like a really humble and cool dude.

This is why his own music is so great—he's such a music fan. His love for these records is genuine, and he did his homework. As they say, the cats who know, know—Huey's a gem in popular music.

Huey Lewis was always on mtv, radio, and movie soundtracks when I was a kid. When I hear his music it brings back a lot of memories. Good to see he’s doing alright. Seems like a cool guy.

Was a big fan in the 80's as a kid. Was too young to go to "The Arena" to see him but legend has it he was seen in the hotel lobby after the show drinking a jug of orange juice and poured it all on his face and shirt. Must have been refreshing. All of these things he's sharing make so much sense. A great glimpse into his history.

I met Huey Lewis around 1978 or 79 when I was about 9 years old. He was wandering through Bolinas and I happened to be eating dinner over at my friend’s house where he was joining us through the generosity of my friend’s mom. I became a fan from his first hit on MTV, and I was all, “hey... I met that guy in bobo like five years ago!”.

TOP was everything back in the Bay Area in those days. I don't even remember how many times I saw them play at various venues, festivals and fairs.
