Usain Bolt, the superb sprinter, was born on August 21, 1990 in Sherwood Content; a small megacity in Jamaica. He is descended from Jennifer and Wellesley Bolt; his lovely parents. Bolt has two beautiful siblings; Sherine and Sadiki.

Bolt attended Waldensia Primary School where he showcased his sprinting abilities. By age twelve, he had become the fastest sprinter in his high school.


Arriving at William Knibb Memorial Secondary School, Bolt began to focus on other athletic pursuits, but his cricket coach encouraged him to focus on athletics. This is because his coach noticed his speed on the playing field. Dwayne Jarrett and Pablo McNeil also persuaded Usain Bolt to focus his efforts on improving his sprinting abilities.

In high school, in 2001; he won his first medal in the 200 meter race. McNeil then became Usain Bolt’s head coach and the pair enjoyed a favorable coalition. However, McNeil was infuriated by Bolt’s lack of commitment to training and his penchant for jokes; he barely took things seriously.

Usain Bolt became a professional athlete in 2004 under the supervision of Fitz Coleman. It started with the CARIFTA games which were held in Bermuda. Bolt became the first junior sprinter to run the 200 meters in under twenty seconds. He was part of the Jamaican squad that took part in the 2004 World Junior Championship, despite a thigh injury.


Bolt bravely took the bull by the horn participating in the 2004 Athens Olympics where he broke a new record. However, he was delayed by a leg injury and was retired in the first round of the 200m race with an unfortunate time of 21.5 seconds. 2005 was a good start for Usain Bolt, who got a new coach named Glen Mills. Mills changed Bolt’s attitude towards athletics. He began training with Mills in order to prepare for the upcoming athletics; collaborating with notable sprinters such as Dwain Chambers and Kim Collins.


The year started well and in July he premiered another record. He further participated in the 2007 World Championship held in Osaka, Japan; achieve a silver medal. Usain Bolt was among the silver medal relay team members alongside Asafa Powell, Nester Carter and Marvin Anderson in the 4×100 relay race.

Bolt won the Jamaican Sport of the Year in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. He was recognized as Commander of the Order of Distinction, which automatically allows him to use post-nominal letters.


In 2015, Usain Bolt was honored by AIPS as Male Artist of the Year. The BBC also awarded him the BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year award. He was later named Sportsman of the Year by Laureus.


Usain Bolt has been in a relationship with KasiBennett, his longtime girlfriend for several years now. He described his Jamaican girlfriend as a very important person to him as he showers her with so much love.

They then decided to go public with their affair. The two lovebirds have announced that they will be tying the nuptial knot soon, as they are already engaged.

Bolt became a household name too early in his professional career and the endorsements soon began. He is incredibly wealthy and his net worth is estimated at around $30 million.

Being the always cheerful person he was before fame caught up with him, Bolt is a lover of the finer things in life, especially when it comes to luxury cars. The sportsman has several exotic cars like a Ferrari 458, a Ferrari F430, a BMW M3 and a Nisan GTR.
