I heard someone say that groceries have gotten so expensive that social media food demonstrations are now done with generics and store brands. So true.

100 bucks. Onion, roma tomatos, iceberg Lettuce, 2 green bell pepper, mushrooms, russet potatoes, 1 lg avocado, bread, peanut butter, rice, red beans, black beans, chickpeas, tortilla shells or flour if you dont mind making your own. Sour cream, block of sharp cheddar, sliced pepper Jack, frozen mixed veggie, salsa, eggs caned fire roasted tomato, and tomato sauce tomato soup. This is about 50 bucks where I am. Id make tacos, chili, baked potato’s, stuffed bell pepper, Shepards pie, grilled cheese and soup, faux tuna salad sandwiches, sautéed mushroom bell pepper avocado sandwiches, peanut butter sandwiches, black bean burgers with French fries. Eggs & hashbrowns, eggs & toast, egg burritos with salsa.

Groceries have gone up but I can still feed my family for $100, husband and I and two 6ft. tall teen boys. DO NOT stick to your list. Watch for extra good clearance and mark downs at the store. Do not shop at 1 store. Check ads for 2 or 3 stores for meat, milk, cheese, eggs. Stock up on sale items. DO NOT make menus. Keep a list of 10 spring and summer meals and 10 fall and winter menus. Keep your pantry stocked with those items and cook from your pantry and freezer. Do not allow yourself and kids to just buy "what you feel like eating". You eat what's on sale and that it. 95% of our food is store brand or on sale for the lowest price. DO NOT shop at Costco and Sam's. You're lying to yourself if you think they REALLY save money. They don't.

It's not just the $100. Think about the TIME it takes to stalk sales, to go to different stores at different times, and still make time to cook everything from scratch. So many of you all need to stop thinking that these people are not trying hard enough and focusing on why things are how they are.

Grocery prices are higher, however there are ways to stay in budget. 1. Buy in bulk at Sam's or Costco. 2. Shop at Aldi's. 3. Buy generic products. 4. Compare prices at different stores. Milk is more expensive at Sam's Club and Publix, but it's less at Target and Aldi's.

She did well saving with the BOGO but to be honest, you're better off shopping at a warehouse store like Costco. Most of this is due to corporate shrinkflation. And weigh your meat before they ring you up to verify the poundage. Online videos show some manufacturers pricing 4lbs of meat when only 2lbs are in the pack.

I live in Illinois I don't feel like I spend much more than what I did before covid. I've been shopping markdown meat and as much markdown and clearance food and non-food items for many years many times you can stack coupons on top of these markdown items. The couple spending $300 a month I don't think is that bad buying for two people but I spend less than that. I purchase a variety of meat including steaks

I shop between 4 major grocery stores according to the sales ad for the week..All 4 are within a 10 miles radius..You can easily put $100 worth of groceries in the hand basket instead of pushing a cart like before....😮🤔

the problem is that people are looking at the label and not the price. also, people buy a lot of unnecessary things. i buy all my groceries for the entire month. it usually runs around 150.

In Canada, home of high food prices, when my 22 year old son lived at home, cost per week was 350 to 400 Canadian dollars at the grocery store. That was for me, hubby and our 19 year old son so 4 of us. He bought a home last summer, so our average grocery bill is 200 to 250 a week. I shop at Walmart grocery free curbside pick up and Freshco a discount store . 100 bucks wouldn't even cover more then a few days here.

I know low income families that can do less than $100 a month if no pantry involved. Not sure about Miami but yes to other places. Check out international grocery stores for good deals. I have seen random brands sold for very cheap because many people wanted name brand. People just need to shop around for the best deals as not just stick to one store.

Price gouging. Plain and simple. You look at all of these companies making RECORD PROFITS. Inflation has come waaaay down. This is way beyond inflation.

We spend over 1, 000 a month for 4 of us in AZ. It's ridiculous. I used to feed us for 400 a month

What I would buy in groceries for $100 to last a month: cans of black beans, zucchini, angel hair pasta, low sugar ice cream sandwiches, a pound of shredded mozzarella cheese, a Tony's pizza, chili garlic chips, fruit punch mix packets, sugar free chocolate sauce, frozen broccoli, & zero sugar Sunkist. All items bought at Walmart.

The combination of inflation and all of these FDA recalls making the things you purchased invalid is infuriating
