It's so strange, a glass castle is said to be in the North, the abode of death. This is a song about a disposable hero who can only hope he did some good. As one of those kids who feared every day that I would loose my dad to his job(Army,21 years of service) this moves me to tears every time. Those waiting back home serve too, in our own way.
