This reminds me of my grand mother. A strong black woman who suffered and died from cancer. she kept the family together until the very end. never complained. Never needed or wanted pity from no one. Kept a smile on her face and fed us all. 10 children on her own as husband was away working. Sometimes leaving herself undone. Although she was the one dying she had so much concern for all in their struggles. I can see her beautiful face with this song.
