You mention there were other vehicles around the vicinity during the attack but nobody has ever come forward and it is highly unlikely that this attack would take place with witnesses around. This is what happened. An observer group were waiting along the highway to identify the target group and the Knowles family were wrongly identified in a case of mistaken identity. The observers drove to an isolated airstrip near the highway and gave the location of the family and a description of the car to a death squad in a helicopter. The death squad fly down the highway and see the families car and fly a few kilometres past the car and turn to face the oncoming family car. The chopper is now hovering a few metres off the road with one small landing light on to maintain a safe distance from the road. The Knowles family see this light and said it looked like a truck with one headlight on that was driving erratically. The plan of the death squad was to wait until the family car was very close and then turn on the powerful searchlight to night blind the driver and force the car to crash off the road at high speed. The chopper’s rotors were kicking up lots of dry desert dust and when the searchlight is switched on it creates a bright dusty haze. Sean Knowles surprisingly swerved onto the opposite side of the road and the family see a split second glance of the side of the helicopter as they speed past in. The have said that the craft was on or just above the road. The also said it Looked Like a station wagon with something on top of it.. if you think about this scene you can imagine that a helicopter could look like a station wagon and the thing over the top of it is the turbo shaft engines and the rotor system. They said it also looked like a car towing a caravan or towing a trailer and these descriptions could also be mistaken as the side view of the helicopter given the circumstances. Any crime scene investigators who wanted to uncover the truth could easy work all this out but the police and the media were happy to lead the pubic on a wild goose chase the confuse and misrepresent the facts
