I kinda like to think that the Pigmask soldier that kicked Salsa at the beginning of the chapter is the same one that gets bitten by the Drago. Serves him right.

I never felt more "attached" to Fassad or anything when letting him take care of the enemies. I was like "You want this done? Do it yourself".

This has always been one of my favourite chapters both the first time and on the replays because of just how helpless it makes you feel. To me it was also the first time Mother 3 began to really nake me feel hurt.

I honestly find it hilarious how Nintendo manages to make happy-go-lucky series with bright and colorful visuals and makes it have some of the most messed up themes and darkest lore (the Kirby series also falls into this with some of it's villains backstories). Great video btw :)

Salsa and Fassad always reminded me of the Rankin Bass adaptation of the Little Drummer Boy. I just can't help but imagine Fassad's voice to sound like that bandit...

I like to take the happy boxes at face value too. But I, personally, don’t interpret that they have any inherent brainwashing. They have a sort of placebo effect. Through their marketing as being something that makes owners of the product happy and peer pressure from other villagers, people believe that the box improves their lives. However, it’s nothing more than flashing lights in the corner of the room. The villagers watch it and add meaning to it themselves but in reality it’s something very simple and vapid. Just flashing lights.
Any relation it does have to happiness is safety from the sky lighting which isn’t natural and from the hands of the pigmasks

Its amazing to me that Lucas comes to save the day with the same Drago family as the mecha drago. It shows how forgiving both Lucas and the Dragos really are. Lucas lost his mom to the Drago baby's mom, and the Drago baby watched as Lucas's father killed his mother. They don't blame one another, instead they supported one another as mourning families of a tragedy caused by Porkey. The fact that as a species the Drago's are so sweet makes the death of Mother Drago even sadder.
