Anybody else notice the extra drum-set on the stage with nobody playing it?
That kit belongs to Mr. Aaron Spears. He was the drummer for Usher and Alicia Keys, (and a few others). He died a few months ago at the age of 47, and his drum set on stage in memorial is a great tribute to the legend in the drumming community.

Usher once said in an interview that MJ told him he respected him cause of how he could sing and dance at the same time and he knows exactly how hard that is. This coming from his idol meant more to Usher than any award. Now look at this once in a lifetime show - he definitely SANG & DANCED with all of his heart 😭 LEGEND

People don't realize the homage and respect Usher brought to the old school half-time shows and the venue. Marching bands were a staple of half-time shows and was long forgotten and brought it back and showed the dazzle and glamor of acrobatic performances Vegas is famous for. All blended together with his old school music and bringing the original performers for his hits rather than doing it solo.

People saying “these are Michael moves not Ushers” who the hell do you think taught Usher to dance? Usher used to look up to him growing up and would study his moves and in 2001, they had a dance off sharing the stage. And a few years prior to Mj’s death they did a few events together and he learned a lot from him. So obviously he had inspired dance moves from Michael.

I think some people missed the fact that he showcased and gave platform to a lot...artists gone but never to be forgotten MJ, Prince...HBCUs (band), skaters, dancers...his early career song w/Alicia Keys...AND importantly he addresses his Mom!! He didn't make it just about him. He celebrated the accomplishments of others!! AND The talent and skills of the stage and lighting crew, outfits and behind the scenes people helpng with changing, etc. in 13 to 15 mins👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I shout out Phenomena
