I married a gamer, we solved the problem by having two PS5's linked to two TV's in the front room. And her dad is a massive gamer too so when the in-laws come over we play something together or he watches / gives tips or watch YouTube playthroughs.
It does get tricky when you both want to play the same game but you can't get to it but your wife can so you have to avoid the front room for fear of spoilers.
