The majority of the village pictures are from a nice spot in Bulgaria called Melnik. This summer I met a small dog there called Sharo. We hung out for a bit. I fed him some of my lunch. He seemed quite satisfied and went to sleep. All in all it was a good day.

This guy is crying over how his philosophy degree is a waste, but if this is what it gets you, then I'll be damned if that's a waste

This story is the "Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional" quote and it was done perfectly

Write this in books. Paint it on walls. Carve it into the sky. Translate it into every language. People should know. They need to know.

"Not to be rude, but you're drunk, and old and a bit useless, really." "You are being rude."

When he meets the old woman: "She's the snake, isn't she?" At the end: "Holy shit! That was SO MUCH BETTER!!!"

"we are not 'born to die'. does a book begin just to finish? does a song open with a beautiful chord purely to end? yes, we are born with the inevitable fate of death, but that is merely the final act of the play. we are born to love, be joyous, to move, learn, cry and feel. we are in fact, born to live."

"The universe doesn't give a shit about you.. but your village? Your family? Me? We do." I love this line a lot. The universe isn't what will remember us. It'll be us, ourselves, that'll carry those memories. We'll all waste our time thinking of existential bullshit, wondering if we ever truly matter to the universe. The truth is, we don't matter to the universe. We matter to each other. We matter to the people who love us, and those people matter to us because we love them, too. We don't have to be part of some "grand scheme of things," because we're part of each other's lives. And sometimes, that's enough.

My grandfather crossed the barrier but barely more than a week ago. The snake's grim eyes stared into mine. His heart beat its last notes, his life story done and wrote. But no matter what the years do to me, there will forever be my memories. Rest in peace, and thank you for this video. I'll come here whenever I wish to remember.

“I’d give anything, to give up knowing everything” somehow reminded me of the story of Adam and Eve and how many folklores/stories/literatures talk about the curse of knowledge

I’ve been very sad the couple of days. Very very sad. I saw my mom on the video call and noticed she was getting older. Mortality hit me like a truck. When I saw my happy dog after a long work shift, wagging her tail at the sight of me, I started bawling. Every night, I was grieving for all the people I know. It made me very sad that all of the things I know now will disappear. Thank you for this story. I’ve been reflecting on it. I don’t feel as okay right away but I just know I soon will. As everyone and everything should, we’ll all be okay.
