For a while now, PC ports have launched with various issues to the point where the day one experience is often disappointing, if not downright broken. We've already seen promising signs of improvement in The Last of Us Part 1, but what about the rest of the triple-A titles we've got issues with? Patches have been forthcoming across the weeks and months for The Callisto Protocol, Forspoken, Returnal and the Dead Space Remake, so in this content, Alex revisits them all. Does the PC experience improve over time? Do games mature into solid experiences? As you may imagine, the reality is complicated.

Something very EA about the abandonment of Dead Space

Thanks so much for revisiting PATCHED games! It helps me know which games are worth buying now after a few patches. Your content is always so thorough and well-structured :)

I know it's a lot of work to revisit games, and also tiring to sometimes see the lack of improvements, but you're doing the community a huge service. Thank you, Alex!

Your reporting has done so much for the PC community. I remember posting on forums back 10+ years ago about stutters and everyone shouted that they weren't real. Glad to have consistent visual proof and enough of an audience to get developer's attention to fix a lot of stutter issues I feared would've been left unchecked otherwise.

I love this idea! So many PC ports are unfinished that they are not worth buying on day 1. Assuming that this year of PC ports is a sign of future things to come, which it probably is sadly, then you should make more videos like this.

Even more disappointing is the fact Motive has still yet to fix a progress-blocking bug that quite a few users, including me, have experienced and cannot finish the game because of it.

This is the reason why Alex looked so "exhausted" on DF Weekly😅Thank you for doing this Alex!

The depths you guys go to is impressive. Sometimes I kind of feel like it would be warranted for ya'll to post a 30 second video that just says "Nope, they are all still broken"

Alex, you are perhaps the biggest consumer advocate of PC gaming cohort, we need you more than you deserve us.

This video is invaluable. Reporting back after launch would encourage devs and publishers to patch the games and not abandon them. Thank you for this.

Forspoken becoming one of the most competent PC ports of this year was certainly not on my bingo list.

Quick FYI, Callisto Protocol is still abysmal around the shanty town area later into the game especially if you have RT turned on even on something like a 5900x. Probably doesn't get much coverage cause it's much further on but something to be aware of cause it's pretty much the bulk of the last quarter or so of the game.

Ive been playing Forspoken on PS5 and i was genuinely surprised at the improvements compared to that original demo. So good to hear the PC port has also received love and attention 😌

Sadly I think "Are they fixed" has to become a standard video format, really enjoyed getting an update!

This teaches us a very important lesson. Do not buy games at day 1 release. Wait at least 6 months. If the hype has died down and reviews aren't great, wait for a sale.

I'm saving more money by not pre-ordering and waiting a year later when the games are complete. Thanks, Devs and Publishers for looking out for us!

It's good to see that most of them are fixed, but that should have been on launch...

That Jedi Survivor doesn't even make the cut for this video should tell where things still stand with it.

They did improve the AO in Forspoken, not just add another technique...
