The band is Them and Van Morrison was the lead singer and he wrote the tune. Jimmy Page , at the time in 1964 a session guitarist, played in the studio because the original band members were thought to be too inexperienced by Dick Rowe. But what a sound ! Iconic lyrics, true genius.
