Synopsis:
Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.

I kind of like the fact that they kept it aimed at the children demographic. For those complaining that it doesn't look scary, our generation had its moment of Goosebumps glory, grow up. Hopefully this movie will persuade a younger audience to read more of the stories they combined into one movie. I'm really hoping The Haunted Mask is in this one.

The complaining in the comments baffles me - Goosebumps was never hardcore horror! It was all about kids vs the bizarre and unexplained. The frights came from the monsters, the twists and the tension. The only difference is, it scared you when you were younger. Now, a Goosebumps book wouldn't freak you out as much, if at all. You couldn't put yourself in a child's place coz you have bigger, meaner monsters to face now - tax, mortgages, relationships, insurance, student loans, I could go on... But there'll be kids who watch this, get creeped out by the monsters & go pick up the books out of curiosity. Cue a whole new generation of Goosebumps fans! As for me? I'm excited to see a bunch of beasties from the books that I loved as a kid being brought to big-screen-life in a big monster mash-up. It'll be like a Goosebumps: Greatest Hits :-)

I remember I was 10 when this came out in 2015 and now after almost 6 years I love it more than the second one. And I had started reading Goosebumps when I was 6. God I miss that day 😭😭😭.

Just a bit of news. The movie has been getting pretty good reviews. Most say it takes a bit to get started, but once the monsters come out it's a really fun movie to watch. Basically, if you're a Goosebumps fan, you'll like it.

Idk if any of you have seen 13 Reasons Why, but isn't it ironic that the girl he likes in this movie is named Hannah, and the girl he likes in 13 Reasons Why is also named Hannah???

Why would they need a Goosebumps fan to tell them how to defeat the monsters when you have THE AUTHOR of the books?
