Have fun! :)

Stone the Crows was a blues-rock band formed in Glasgow in late 1969. The band were formed after Maggie Bell was introduced to Les Harvey by his elder brother Alex Harvey. After playing together in the Kinning Park Ramblers, their next band Power was renamed Stone the Crows (after a British/Australian English exclamation of surprise or shock) by Led Zeppelin's manager, Peter Grant. The band was co-managed by Grant and Mark London. London was associated with Lulu as the co-writer of her signature song, "To Sir With Love" and was also married to Lulu's manager, Marion Massey. London had also managed the predecessor band Cartoone, in which Peter Grant had a financial interest and featured Les Harvey on guitar.

All I want for Christmas is a yellow pullover vest sweater that reminds me of an old 1973 acid trip.

Grew up as a teen in the 70ties. I now see how privilaged we were ... I wish our youngsters today had the same future ahead. Great post , great band . TY

Jimmy was my school classmate. He went to London 1967 or 68 to Decca to record some tracks. Met the Stones got the photos, we drooled. Was amazed at his career but a very sad end. Paul should have guided him more if he was opened for it. RIP mate.

Bought a couple of Stone The Crows albums and this is the first time I have seen them. That was the days you bought albums for the music to listen to.

Saw the Crows at Crystal Palace Bowl in 1973...Maggie Bell as always, rocked the place to hell. They were on a bill including Roxy Music, Edgar Winter Band, Arlo Guthrie and Osibisa. Count myself very lucky to have been around in those days...

I was sitting in a really posh expensive hairdressers on the Kings Road in London in the early 70's & sat next to this bands singer Maggie Bell Everyone was standofish & snooty so when I asked one of the juniors for a coffee in my Newcastle on Tyne, Geordie accent, Maggie all but pounced on me (as she's Scottish, Glaswegian) thanking the gods for someone to talk to, I knew what she meant, apart from Londoners not understanding neither Scots dialect & Geordie may as well have been Swahili We got on so well & remained friends for a while till life took us differing paths. RIP Maggie

Remember hearing Stone the Crows on the King Biscuit Flour Hour radio show when I was a kid. Now I'm 66 and still a fan. A criminally underrated band.
