DA new hire headcount, 7:50
DS new hire headcount, 8:45

If we zoom in on the x-axis, the number of new hires is not that many—50 to 60 for the top company for the entire US market. The rest of them are just hiring two dozen here and there. It's a tough market.

Thank you for this. Just starting the job search in the middle of a master’s degree and was getting stressed with everyone saying the job market was in the end times.

I actually work as a Talent Acquisition Data Analyst for a large logistics company. One thing to note on the hiring numbers is this does not take into account turnover. So if a company has high turnover for say a data analyst role they may have hired 2 or 3 analyst for the same "seat" within the company. Meta might have hired 120 Data Scientists but if they are losing people because of burnout it may be a misleading number. Great video by the way.

5:00 It is actually stagnating. The chart measures the acc growth, not the yearly growth. Be aware of the axes fellow data friends.

E-commerce is developing very fast. What do you think about the effect of applying data analysis to e-commerce and some global chain stores? These stores are on the rise.

"If everyone agrees, stop and think for a minute." ~ Jack Ma

I did exactly that.
99% of people went into narrow specializations (like becoming programmers).
What are they going to do for the next 20- 30 years? I have no idea (and worse- I don't really have any advice for them).

I took a much broader approach- something like a "carpet bombing" strategy, but aimed at the market.

However, I’ve noticed a really troubling trend: there’s been a sudden rise in philosophers (a miracle!), strategists, and the like.
Basically, it’s a mass deception- people are commenting on things they know nothing about, just to convince others they’re experts.
They’re not- and they’re talking nonsense. 😄

Cut to the chase... :D
The market is simply changing, and any REAL analyst knows that and has prepared for it.
If they haven’t- well, then they’re not really an analyst, are they?
Seems pretty logical, or? :))

How easy is it for someone who has a PHD in data science, to get a data science job in USA?

@pguid

Regarding CAPITOL ONE, at the top of the chart, something is wrong there. First the same job opening is listed for months, and its description says nothing about the job besides skills required. Second, when you get contacted from their hr department they are unable to tel you anything about the job until you pass an online 90min, 8- 10 problem python test where your recorded on video with ai monitoring. Don’t waste your time.

It’s oversaturated. Data analytics is the easiest practice in the tech industry which makes everyone want to choose or switch to the role

To anyone who has experience in data analytics, how realistic would you say it for someone who doesn't have a degree and isnt pursuing one to obtain an entry level job in todays market?

The data analytic job market is nightmaric. (I don't know if that's a word, but it fits.) A new job goes online and a day later there are 100 applicants. There would be more, but the counter only goes up to 100!
