Dude literally resisted arrest and didn't end up on the ground with a broken collarbone or dead. Didn't know that was possible.

The fact these guys all complain that they can't give a free pass because it's on camera means that THE CAMERAS WORK. THEY SHOULD BE RECORDED CONSTANTLY WHILE ON THE JOB.

If only we lived in a world where arresting a cop for drunk driving resulted in promotion instead of career suicide

The fact that these guys are so conflicted about what to do is 100% evidence of the problem at hand. Body cameras are an amazing revelation. Instead of being furious that this cop is driving drunk, they actually feel bad for busting him.

They're visibly terrified of actually holding each other accountable.

I don't think it's a problem that they spoke to him the way that they did. It's a problem that they don't talk to everyone with the same amount of understanding and empathy they displayed here. Imagine a world where no-one is in fear of their wellbeing in the presence of cops who are arresting them.

“We’re going to have to pull him out. We can’t turn our cams off now” is my favorite line in the original video.

You can tell they REALLY wished they hadn't turned the cameras on and if their body cams hadn't been on they would've almost certainly let him go. Before body cameras were a thing they would never have made this an issue.

The mere fact that we are having the conversation about how holding a cop to the same standards as others is a big deal and rare, IS the problem.

can you imagine if cops treated everyone like this? what a different world that would be

I always kinda knew but this footage really shows how the status quo of police never holding police accountable isn’t just held up by an almost frat-guy like culture, but also by fear. You can tell that officer desperately doesn’t wanna hold the lieutenant accountable for fear for his future career.

it’s crazy how quickly the officer recording trusted the lieutenant with not having his gun on him just by asking, but they assume every civilian they see has one on them at all times.

My BAC .32 when I got alcohol poisoning and I woke up in the hospital with zero recollection of what had happened. The fact the he’s conscious above what I had is astounding and he is 100 percent an extreme alcoholic.

I'm addicted to videos of cops getting DUIs & throwing a fit. Theres dozens of them. Please god react to more. Your true crime reactions are my favorite.

The grossest part about content like this is that they absolutely would not spend ten minutes talking about how there's "nothing they can do" for any civilian they pulled over. Yet people see cops on videos like this having that conversation often enough to be able to convince themselves that ultimately doing their job still makes them good cops.

I have friends and family members that are cops, and most of them wholeheartedly believe that cops can do no wrong. One of my foster sisters, who is Jamaican, quit the NYPD. She said she couldnt do it anymore. The profiling, the quotas, everything. She got her degree and resigned.

Cops need to be bringing this energy to every traffic stop, period.

I've been on a cop footage kick lately and this just confirms the idea that cops really feel like the law doesn't apply to them. Deleting mug shots and stuff
