I didn't speak English yet too well and I didn't know spelling, yet I passed kindergarten, but got held back in first grade. Teacher told my mother it's okay it'll be good for him he'll get better.
She was right. I became a master speller, good fast reader and got a great education at my Conn Parochial School. š
