As we are surviving through a pandemic- hoping to receive better news each day, things just all seem to be going the opposite direction. Like you, I am tired of seeing those in high positions continue to abuse their power. I am outraged by how one's fate in this world is simply determined by the color of their skin. I am fearful because of the mere fact that our lives are in the hands of the people who supposedly should be protecting us. I am angry with how unjust the system is. The system that was built on the backs of those it continues to oppress. Up to this day. As much as i am affected, i still admit that i did not have it worst like others. I understand the privilege i have. But the story shouldn't stop there...nor does it mean that there should be no story at all just because it isn't happening to you. I will continue to educate myself and get as much learnings as i can about all of this, and do my part to help stand for what is right and fair. I encourage you to do the same. As we continue to face this undeniably rough year, i hope we take this time to really educate ourselves on these pressing issues that are happening and have been happening around the world, and do what we can to help, even in the smallest ways. Do not underestimate the small acts towards what is right for it is a step forward to being the change you want to see. Also do not forget to check in on your friends and family. Especially those who are distant. For now, this is the little i can do. I hope this rendition somehow uplifts your spirits, and remind you of the one basic thing we all seem to be forgetting - love. "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
