Talk title: How Brown vs. Board of Education Erased Black Teachers: What was Lost and its Continued Impact on Teachers of Color by Dr. Michele Foster. Recorded during the Lunch and Learn Program, Oct. 21, 2020 at noon for the Carnegie Center for Art and History in New Albany, IN.

This slightly longer than an hour long discussion centers on how desegregation impacted Black teachers and educators in the wake of Brown vs. Board of Education and how that has affected the modern classroom to this day. Dr. Foster is the author of the landmark study, Black Teachers on Teaching and is the Henry Heuser Jr Endowed Chair for Urban Education Partnerships at the University of Louisville. Dr. Foster earned her PhD and MA, in Anthropology and Education from Harvard University.

Lunch and Learn is a once a month program of varying topics and presentations. The Carnegie Center for Art and History is a branch of the Floyd County Library in New Albany, IN.
