Margot Robbie went on a whirlwind press tour for the launch of the Greta Gerwig directed Barbie movie, and it delivered one of the best examples of "method dressing" we have seen from an actor is quite a while! Margot and her stylist Andrew Mukamal played on the lengthy history of Barbie and referenced a multitude of fashions from different decades in the Barbie canon, while also tying in references to other Barbie like figures such as models like Claudia Schiffer and Karen Mulder. There was a range of designer brands that worked alongside Robbie and Mukamal to create real life versions of some of Barbie's most iconic and historic fashion moments like Schiaparelli, Prada, Versace, Moschino, Herve Leger, and Chanel just to name a few! So sit back and enjoy as we break down some of the best moments and references on the red or pink carpets!

The union says theyโ€™re not asking for a consumer boycott? Theyโ€™ve asked people to see projects that are already completed!

How she went from her terrible outfits to one of the best promo outfit collections is mindblowing

Barbie has had one of the best marketing campaigns of any film from the modern era.

After the press tour, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a museum exhibit of all these looks. Might even be the theme of next year's Met Gala.

The only thing that was in my mind while seeing Margo Robbie's outfits during Barbie promotions is that she looks good in Pink and the color should definitely be included in her regular outfit palette in the future

She is the best method dresser I've seen in the past few years. I love when actors do homages to the movie's their promoting at red carpet events.

my understanding is that the unions are encouraging people to see movies and watch tv, not boycott them.

This whole press tour had me on edge. It's the first time it has happened to me that I'm like actively looking out for when or where the next press event is so that I can check the next outfit as soon as the first pictures come out.

Robbie is literally a perfect Barbie, just as she was a perfect Harley Quinn. I don't really know anybody else who could have given literal life to these characters as flawlessly as her.

The pose on the American vogue cover makes sense for a barbie. The dolls bend over at the waist into two different parts, which is kind of what the dress + pose makes it look like Margo is doing.

My favorite is definitely the Vivienne Westwood Pink Gown, it's gorgeous and gives off old hollywood energy/style

still loving how much Margot and Ryan are completely owning Barbie and Ken, love seeing actors treat a role as more than just a paycheque but can tell they're genuinely enjoying the whole process

Hey there! Just so you know, both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA havenโ€™t called for a consumer boycott of film and TV, and are actually currently encouraging people to continue watching and streaming to show the importance of actors and writers!

People who are saying Magot's reference are lazy are not doing their homework. They are not lazy, they are so well thought that even when the looks are not a copypaste of a barbie look yoyu think you have already seen that in Barbie. And that is the genius of this press tour

I think Vogue didnโ€™t pull full on Barbie reference looks because Margot and her new stylist were doing it for the press tour. And the black Schiaparelli dress is my favorite. And the MET Gala should do a Barbie theme ๐Ÿ˜‚ .

The fact that you havenโ€™t seen it yet, but are still giving the same layers and depth to the fashion that the movie gave to Barbie is amazing!! You have to go see the movie, itโ€™s brilliant!
