As someone who did a lot of 3D modeling in animation school, I'm very excited to see you start 3D modeling and printing!
My biggest piece of advice is primer/filler! Rust-oleum makes a great 2 in 1 primer that fills in all the layer lines to help give it a smooth, finished texture. I usually go through 2 rounds of priming then sanding with various grits and then hitting it with a clear coat to really give it that professional prop feel! (It can also help really blend in seams between multiple print pieces on larger props) Really makes a difference when 3D printing!

As a fellow D&D nerd and lover of printing and painting mini's I think 3D printing is the best thing that has ever happened to table top gaming.
Did some larger models, specifically I printed a model castle because I thought that would be neat. One large enough for characters/combat to actually to take place.
Larger/Multi part models take a bit of practice and trail and error but you can make some really smart mechanism to just click parts together. I made the castle for our next game buuuut I had to take it with me. So I made it in 13 parts with little nubbins that would lock into place.
Now the only thing I need is a printer that make me snacks and I'd be set for life! Which, with some of the advances in the 3D printing might/will very likely happen in our life time.
Which is insane. in like 10~20 years you can just press play and print a burger with fries.
Thank you for your awesome video's, it's so nice to know someone exists that has the same dragon energy but also the chaotic chipmunk energy I have ^^;

Super impressive that you picked all that up so fast!! Blender has a steep learning curve and you just kicked it to the curb! I wonder if to get your shapes projected onto your objects if you couldn’t just do a lot of subdivisions on the target object and then use the shrink wrap modifier to project your shape onto it and then cut it out.

3d modelling is one of the coolest and most fun things I've been doing recently. I've been mainly making 3d models of dinosaurs and recently have been doing stuff related to a godzilla au I'm making so it's really cool seeing you try out blender and do some 3d modelling. Keep up the fantastic work
