[Verse 1]
Sometimes I think about the ones that we’ve replaced
All the millions underneath the burnt and waste
And I get sad because, of course, we’ll be the same
All of history collapsing in its wake
[Chorus]
Maybe it’s enough that I have laid here
Maybe it’s enough that I have known inside my head, and
Maybe it’s enough to know that we were here together
And that we are the ones
We are the ones
We are the ones for now
[Verse 2]
I heard that someday when they look up at the night
They’ll see nothing but a black and starless sky
And they’ll tell stories of some old and callow time
Claiming spectacles of brilliant burning lights
[Chorus]
Maybe it’s enough that I have laid here
Maybe it’s enough that I have known inside my head, and
Maybe it’s enough to know that we were here together
And that we are the ones
We are the ones
We are the ones for now
[Verse 3]
So maybe this is what it takes to realize
I am grateful just that I have been alive
And I’ll be happy if I look back on my life
Been a sister, been a mother, been a wife
[Chorus]
Maybe it’s enough that I have laid here
Maybe it’s enough that I have known inside my head, and
Maybe it’s enough to know that we were here together
And that we are the ones
We are the ones
We are the ones for now

I've been struggling to find music I can bear to listen to after my brother passed away a few weeks ago. This song just came up on Spotify's Favorite Coffeehouse playlist and I had to stop and listen again. We aren't religious, and while I have no concern over that, it's just so heartbreaking that his life was what it was and ended when it did. And it is weird to be left here, for him to just be gone. This line: "So maybe this is what it takes to realize I am grateful just that I have been alive And I'll be happy if I look back on my life Been a sister, been a mother, been a wife." He was a brother, a husband and friend, and his life wasn't nothing. Anyway, thank you for this song my heart needed.

This video is so perfect because it is extremely you. I know I keep saying this, but the reason I feel so privileged to be a part of KG records is because you’re authentic. You aren’t some executive’s contrivance. You’re a real person with feelings and hopes and dreams and a good heart. In a world where Kylie Jenner is now the youngest billionaire ever, thank God there are still people like you who aren’t afraid to be vulnerable in front of their fans. Blessings to you and Jesse and safe travels on the rest of your tour 🙏🏼☺️

This song literally just calmed down my screaming toddler into a nap in my arms. Thank you
