Kim Novak was my father’s dream girl and this was his favorite movie scene of hers. Even my mother ( who looked a lot like her) knew that. This scene happened to come on the tv and my mom called to my dad who was outside to hurry up and come watch it. I was so young at the time, but still remember him and my mom watching this dance scene. He’s gone now, so I got a tear in my eye watching this.

Just read an interview with Ms. Novak where she said the reason this dance scene crackles with electricity is because a tornado was approaching the Kansas town where they were shooting.
"I think the electricity in the air had so much to do with all that we were feeling," she said. "And we were both charged with all that energy that was out there."
