I kinda dig this type of buildup with thin sound, little low end, a lowly defined hat, a ping-pong smack, a thin, almost clicky kick drum, a simple pad, then a pluck bathed in reverb -- then in comes vocals and a bassline. Take away kick drum. Then feed it back in with lots of oomph, and make the bassline fatter. It should have a name. That sequence is so fucking seductive. I also love that he creates pick-ups with clap breaks. And then comes that little brassy detail with low attack on the filters and high env. Another break, dreamy vocals - rinse repeat, fucking home run, have the entire building in a motherfucking trance.

Listened to this for the first time as my plane was taking off toward home a few weeks ago. During takeoff the song started up and just as we started to speed up and take off, the beat kicked in. Sitting next to the widow with the song going off in my ears was truly wonderful. One of those songs that brings a good memory

Remember listening to this all day when I was 19, travelling across France with my friends, riding bikes to go from city to city, skateboarding every damn day. Now I’m 23, software engineer, we are separated as everyone has started to work but I miss those times now, I’m still young but don’t have the time to those things again.
