The starting scene is my favourite scene in all of Gilmore Girls from when i first watched it 10 years ago(and and Friday night fights) because it's just so raw, so real & it was such a long time coming, it was her showing she's lost & yet no one understanding, not to mention she's in her home but doesn't feel comfortable, she looks in the mirror but doesn't feel like herself. She's supposedly having fun / meant to be doing something fun with her friends but she feels so alone & it's heartbreaking. It's because of this scene that i dont think she had a "downfall" because it's something that almost every one of us goes through. That scene absolutely breaks me every single time! Anyway, beautiful vid like always.

The intro scene breaks my heart every time omg that episode was actually one of my favorites of the show (if we were to ignore the Christopher and Lorelai parts in Paris). Rory's breakdown and existential / quarter-life crisis is so realistic and relatable to so many people (myself included). Lucy and Olivia being so supportive and reassuring was the highlight for me as well because it showed us that Rory really wasn't alone in this because they were also thinking about the things she was thinking. I get that I'm in the minority when I say this, but I feel like Rory needed to have those two friends way before the final season because she needed them to branch out in college more and meet new people like them. (I also really liked season 7 as well, which I know is unpopular, because it needed to happen to wrap up so many things.) Anyway, I'll forever defend Rory and she's a great example of how someone as privileged as she was got to have a moment like this to showcase her flaws (or to put it simply: a great example of that one person who peaked in high school but became a burnout after graduating.) It really puts things into perspective and makes her an undeniably interesting and complex character, in my personal opinion, because for those of us who have been raised as if they get to be the exception and whatnot (it's mostly on how much her grandparents put pressure on her with the expectations and standards they had for her as well as how much Lorelai wanted her to be the perfect girl), they end up getting hit in the face after they face the harsh brutalities of the real world, where they realize that the world does not revolve around them. (So sorry for how long my comment was, but I really loved this edit omg you showed just the right scenes which fit perfectly with the song!! ❤❤)
