Considering the game takes place in L.A. you could say the annoying dialogue was intentionally made to be cringe so that it properly reflected the average IQ of people who live there. Edit: πŸ˜† looks like some of the easily offended with no sense of humor found the comment. Thanks for all the likes.

Fun fact, Emma in the game actually explains that the reason why her house is a good Fortress is that she has bulletproof glass installed. It was a security measure that her husband put in place.

The fact that this thing was ever even finished is a miracle in itself.

This game shitting on streamers is the best thing about it. Seriously, they're the absolute worst.

A zombie invasion in LA is probably the only way you could alter the locals personality to a somewhat likeable level

As someone who lives near LA, I can say that a lot of the snarky cringey obnoxious stuff in the game is pretty accurate. Like Emma Jaunt and how her house would be as protected as a sand castle, or that the game is beautiful and very picturesque of LA, Venice, etc. While also capturing that destroyed and run down feeling

The procedural damage system they invented for this game is absolutely next gen. Damage states (as it's being called in a game development) are a huge pain in the arse: You can either just splat some blood decals on a model of a damaged enemy, which is pretty easy and cheap, but not very realistic (most games do damage states this way) or you need to create several models for each enemy type and each damage state, which is very time consuming. The concept of having realistic damage states without huge amount of work is very novel, actually.

My only gripe about the old game was the fact that it sometimes felt like a nightmare with regard to the hit detection or damage. You'd hit a zombie in the face with a lead pipe and the zombie would cough politely and fart a little before walking along like nothing happened. The lead pipe would evaporate in your hands after a few more useless slaps.

I played as Ryan and it was pretty entertaining. He honesty felt the most down to earth of all the characters from the cast.

Ryan is probably the best character you can play, because at lest he actually sound like an actual person that has normal human reactions to the events going on

The lack of drivable vehicles is especially weird considering how prominent one was in the original trailer. I thought you would be able to customize them into zombie killing machines similar to how you customize weapons.

Screamers and the berserkers with bones for arms were already in first game. Berserkers were dangerous enough up close that you usually saved your shotgun for them and them alone. Screamers just outright disabled your attacks while summoning a group of angry runner zombies at you. Seems they nerfed them both in the 2nd game.

I loved how in the first game your character would literally freak out when fighting zombies and as they leveled up became more and more confident. Sad that it seems that's missing here πŸ˜”

If there's one thing DNF taught us, it's, "The longer you wait, the higher people's expectations grow until they become impossible to overcome."

I had a blast with this game. It was a nice change of pace to play a game that doesn't take itself seriously and wasn't a grind to play. It didn't overstay its welcome and was a decent length once you add in the side quests. I'm glad it just finally got released and maybe now that the weight has been lifted from the developers shoulders, they can focus on a new game with all the little extra things people want because there was no way this game was going to live up to anyones hype.

Ryan is probably the best voice acted character in the game and he only makes commentary when you would really expect it. Most versatile character as well if you ask meπŸ‘πŸ»

As a former resident who once lived in California in the last 25 years. I can definitely confirm that yes, this is what California and its people are like

This made me appreciate the work TEchland did for Dying Light. It felt like a breath of fresh air.

Critics being so hard on this game, meanwhile, it’s exactly what I’ve been wanting. Dumb fun zombie killing.
